Pitzhanger Manor opens Wednesday to Sunday 10am to 5pm this winter, shuts only on Christmas Day, and opens Peter Blake: In the Studio on 25 November. Prices.
Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery, Sir John Soane’s house on Ealing Green, stays open all winter. It runs Wednesday to Sunday, 10am to 5pm, closes only on Christmas Day, and is open on both the Boxing Day bank holiday, Monday 28 December, and New Year’s Day. The season’s main event is Peter Blake: In the Studio, from 25 November 2026 to 18 April 2027, a recreation of the Pop artist’s Hammersmith studio inside the manor, included in the normal admission ticket.
Ealing residents can get in for whatever they choose to pay, down to nothing, on Sunday mornings and on the first Thursday evening of each month. Everything below is from Pitzhanger’s own pages, read on 24 September 2026.
The quick answer
- Open Wednesday to Sunday, 10am to 5pm. First Thursday of the month until 8pm. Closed Mondays and Tuesdays. Closed Christmas Day; open 10am to 5pm on 28 December and 1 January (plan your visit).
- Adults £14, under 16s free, concessions £12, students £7. Ealing residents pay what they can, from £7 to free, at Open Sundays (10am to noon) and Thursday Lates (5pm to 8pm) (tickets).
- Peter Blake: In the Studio opens Wednesday 25 November and runs to 18 April 2027, with general admission (exhibition page).
Opening hours through the winter
| Day | Hours |
|---|---|
| Monday | Closed (open 10am to 5pm on bank holidays) |
| Tuesday | Closed |
| Wednesday | 10am to 5pm |
| Thursday | 10am to 5pm; first Thursday of the month 10am to 8pm |

| Friday 25 December | Closed |
| Monday 28 December | 10am to 5pm |
| Friday 1 January 2027 | 10am to 5pm |
There is one inconsistency on Pitzhanger’s own site about how late you can arrive. The ticket page and the plan-your-visit page both say “suggested last entry 30 minutes before closing”. The footer on every page says “last admissions one hour before closing”. Aim for 4pm and you are safe either way.
The gallery’s Bella Puglia Café and the shop are open Wednesday to Sunday, 10am to 5pm, last orders 4.30pm, and do not need a ticket (eat and drink). Walpole Park, which surrounds the manor, is locked at 5.30pm in November, December, January and February by Ealing Council, and the contractor may be up to 90 minutes later on the round (park opening and closing times).
One partial closure is already booked: on Saturday 17 October the Eating Room and Upper Drawing Room are shut from 3pm to 5pm for a private function, with general admission continuing.

The Ealing resident offer is separate and it is the best value in the borough. Residents of the London Borough of Ealing choose to pay £7, £5, £3, £1 or nothing, but only at two times:
- Open Sundays, every Sunday from 10am to noon.
- Thursday Lates, the first Thursday of each month and special Thursdays, 5pm to 8pm.
You have to create an account on Pitzhanger’s website with an Ealing postcode, pick the “Ealing Resident Pay What You Can” ticket, book in advance, and bring proof of address to the desk. Pre-booking is required and the offer does not include ticketed events. Backpacks must be carried in front of you or left in the free lockers at the gallery entrance.
Peter Blake: In the Studio, 25 November to 18 April
Pitzhanger’s winter exhibition is a major show on Sir Peter Blake, born 1932, “the defining figure of British Pop Art”. His Hammersmith studio is being recreated inside the manor, together with paintings, sculpture, collages and works on paper, and the collection of curiosities and memorabilia that filled the real studio. It opens to the public on Wednesday 25 November 2026 and runs to Sunday 18 April 2027, and you see it on a normal admission ticket, so the Ealing resident pay-what-you-can days apply.
Members get a preview morning on 25 November, before public opening hours (members’ morning).
The current show, Clare Woods: Garden Without Seasons, closes on 8 November 2026. Its last two Thursday Lates are 1 October, with the artist in conversation with Pitzhanger’s director Rebecca Lyons, and 5 November, a still life tour. Both are on the what’s on page.

Christmas events
Updated 29 September: Pitzhanger has listed its first two Christmas 2026 events.
Both are evening workshops in Soane’s Garden Room, next to the manor, and both include a mince pie and a drink on arrival:
- Winter wreath making workshop, with Flowers by Louise, Wednesday 2 December and Wednesday 9 December 2026, 6.30pm to 9.30pm, £80 a person, all tools and materials supplied (Pitzhanger). That is £5 less than last year’s £85.
- Festive candle painting workshop, led by the Ealing artist Monika, Wednesday 2 December 2026, 6.30pm to 8.30pm, £35 a person, beginners welcome and materials provided (Pitzhanger).
Pitzhanger gives the Garden Room’s address as Ealing Green, W5 5BE. No Christmas Late had been listed for 2026 on 29 September. For comparison, the 2025 programme was:
- Christmas wreath workshops, Wednesday 26 November and Wednesday 3 December 2025, 6.30pm to 9.30pm, £85 a person (2025 listing).
- Christmas Late: jazz and jewellery making, Thursday 27 November 2025, 5pm to 8pm, with a £35 jewellery workshop including a welcome drink and a £15 charm bar session (2025 listing).
The 2025 listings are still live on the site, so check the year in the date before booking anything you find by search. This page will be updated as the rest of the 2026 Christmas programme appears.
